The PRRA revolutionary design uses a unique wrapping concept that provides versatility, speed and film savings.
The PRRA Rotary Ring style wrapper is able to start at the bottom of a load and finish at the top without having to return back down to the clamp fixed at the conveyor. This means that you can save an extra 30+ feet of stretch film while still applying the same required load retention wraps. The result is thousands of dollars in annual film savings compared to conventional turntable or rotary arm stretch wrappers. In addition the rotary ring design allows for virtually unlimited wrap patterns due to the ability to start and complete a wrapping cycle anywhere on the wrapped load. Beside the standard wrapping cycles, custom wrapping cycles can be added to suit the application requirements.

Travelling Film Clamp and Film Tail Treatment Film Savings Feature
With conventional wrappers (rotary arm and turntables) the film clamp is fixed at conveyor height and the wrap cycle must start at the bottom and get to the top as fast as possible, apply the top wraps, spiral down with a controlled overlap to contain the load and finish at the bottom with bottom wraps and clamping and film tail treatment of the load. However the typically 30 ft. or so of stretch film applied getting to the top is effectively wasted film.

The PRRA key feature is that the film clamp and film tail treatment travels vertically with the film carriage. The PRRA is able to start at the bottom of a load and finish at the top without having to return back down to the clamp fixed at the conveyor. This means that you can save an extra 30+ feet of stretch film while still applying the same required load retention wraps.
The result is thousands of dollars in annual film savings compared to conventional wrapper. In the case of a 60 loads per hour application this results in payback of the purchase price in approx 3 years in film savings alone compared to other conventional wrappers.
 
 
Virtually Unlimited Wrap Patterns
The rotary ring design allows for virtually unlimited wrap patterns due to the ability to start and complete a wrapping cycle anywhere during the wrap cycle. Custom wrapping cycles can be added to suit the application requirements
 
  • Multiple Standard Wrapping Cycles for Improved Film Economies:
    • Std. Wrap Cycle:
      Starting at the bottom, the wrapper completes the bottom wraps and then spirals up with the controlled overwrap to properly contain the load until it reaches the top and applies the top wraps. The film is then clamped, cut and film treatment is completed at the top of the load.
      The carriage does not waste time and film returning to the bottom saving both time and money.
    • Top Banding:
      In many applications the load does not require to be fully wrapped. For internal movement, local shipment and loads needing just top layer retention support, wrapping just the top layers of the pallet is enough to contain the load. The top banding cycle will lower the film carriage to apply film to the top area of the load and then simple cut and clamp right away without applying any film to the lower area.
      This results in a huge savings in film while drastically increasing throughtput speed.
    • Two Way Wrap Cycle:
      For applications that require tremendous amounts of load containment the double wrap cycle will start the cycle at the top with top wraps and then after spiraling down at a controlled overlapping speed it will apply the bottom wraps. Then it will again spiral back up at a controlled overlapping speed to double the containment before finishing at the top and clamping and cutting to complete the cycle.
  • Other examples of custom wrapping cycles that are possible include:
    • Split wrap cycle:
      Independantly wrap 2 loads at time with 2 loads stacked one on top of the other entering the wrapper. The wrapper starts on the bottom load and once it gets to the top of the load it can detect the pallet of the top load and finish the first load by cutting and clamping before moving up and starting the bottom wraps of the second pallet and completing at the top with both exiting.
      Drastically increases throughtput speed.
    • Banding:
      Lock one pallet on top of the other with a banding that locks the upper pallet to the lower pallet.

As you can see with the comparable layout provided on the left, the PRRA takes 25% less space than conventional rotary arm style wrappers.
